Pantelleria, the volcanic island between Sicily and Tunisia, has a small hotel scene: eight properties of any size, spread between the harbour town, the north-west coast at Mursia and a handful of clifftop spots on the east. Most visitors here rent a dammuso instead, so hotels suit a particular kind of trip — a short stay, a first visit, or one where you would rather not drive and cook.
Below is each hotel with its official website, phone number and address, verified in July 2026. None of the island’s hotels publishes fixed room rates on a static page, so we link you to their own booking engines rather than quoting prices that would be wrong by next season. Which part of the island should you stay in?
Three clusters, and the choice shapes your week. The harbour town puts you next to ferries, restaurants and the bus stops. Contrada Mursia on the north-west coast is the island’s traditional hotel strip, with sunsets over the sea towards Africa. The east coast around Kamma and Tracino is quieter and more scenic, but you will need a car.
Whichever you pick, distances are short in kilometres and long in minutes: the roads are narrow and winding, and crossing the island takes around 45 minutes end to end.
Pantelleria Dream Resort
A four-star resort of lava-stone dammusi above Cala Tramontana on the east coast, in the Kamma area. Sea-view terraces, panoramic pools and a restaurant built around island ingredients. This is the closest hotel to the island’s most photographed stretch of coast.
The Arco dell’Elefante sits just below, with Cala Levante next door and the warm rock pools of Cala Gadir a few minutes north.

Qalea Pantelleria (formerly Hotel Village Suvaki)
The island’s largest hotel, on the promontory of Punta Fram on the west coast, about 100 metres above a rocky shore. It has rebranded as Qalea Pantelleria — you will still find it listed as Hotel Village Suvaki or Suvaki Resort on booking platforms, so check you are not double-booking the same property under two names.
Four stars, two restaurants, an outdoor pool and a children’s pool, tennis courts, a fitness room, beach service, bike rental and 24-hour reception. The scale makes it the most family-friendly option on the island.
It is also the most convenient base for divers: TGI Diving Pantelleria works this side of the island, and the lava landscape of the Gelfiser Path starts nearby.

Mursia Wellness Hotel
The oldest hotel on Pantelleria, in the Di Fresco family since it was built, and it wears its 1960s architecture well — arches and round windows opening straight onto the sea. Superior rooms and suites with private terraces, the Le Lampare restaurant, the Riad Bar, and sea-water pools facing the sunset.
Its spa, the Baths of Venus, is the most substantial on the island — useful if you want thermal treatments without hunting for the natural pools. If you do want the wild version, the mud shore at the Lago di Venere hot-mud shore is a fifteen-minute drive, and Cala Karuscia is the nearest swimming cove.

Cossyra Hotel
Cossyra shares Contrada Mursia and its ownership with the Mursia Wellness Hotel next door — the two operate as one complex under Mursia e Cossyra Hotel S.p.A., with guests using facilities across both. Cossyra holds the classic and comfort rooms, from 20 m² doubles up to 40 m² quadruples, which makes it the better value of the pair for families.
Pool, bar, tennis courts, conference room, parking and 24-hour reception. The sunset view is the reason people come back. Book the two hotels through their own separate sites, not as one property.

Le Lanterne Resort
An agriturismo-style resort in the Santa Chiara area near Bue Marino, converted from one of the island’s oldest agricultural estates — the buildings once served Passito and Zibibbo production. Apartments and rooms with air conditioning, balconies, a solarium and free parking, in a setting that feels rural rather than resort-like.
Good base for walkers: the Montagna Grande Trail and the Lago di Venere Crater Walk both start within a short drive, and the official trail to Punta Spadillo runs along the north coast.

Yacht Marina Hotel
Thirty-seven rooms right on the harbour at Via Borgo Italia, with a terrace looking across to the castle and the sea. Rooms come with minibar, safe and satellite TV; the hotel also arranges boat excursions, food and wine tours, and car and scooter rental, which makes it a practical single point of contact if you are organising a short trip from scratch.
The location is the selling point. You step off the Trapani hydrofoil and you are essentially there, the Pantelleria Island Boat Tour leaves from the same quay, and the wine-tour bus and island Cooking Classes pick up in town.

Blue Moon Hotel
A small three-star in the town centre on Via Don Alonzo Errera, near the marina. Eight rooms and a lounge bar — the simplest and usually the cheapest hotel bed on the island, and perfectly placed if you are staying one or two nights around a ferry or flight.
Being in town means you can eat well on foot. The island’s Couscous Pantesco and the baci panteschi are both easier to find here than anywhere else.

How much does a hotel in Pantelleria cost?
None of the island’s hotels publishes a fixed rate card. Every one of them prices dynamically through its own booking engine, so the honest answer is that a rate quoted in a guide would be wrong within weeks. Check dates directly on the sites linked above, and compare against the platforms.
What is reliable is the shape of the market: the three-stars in town sit well below the four-star resorts, August costs roughly double June or September, and most properties close from late autumn to spring. Booking direct often includes the airport transfer, which on this island is worth having.
When should you book?
Early for August. The island has a small number of hotel beds and heavy Italian domestic demand, and Ferragosto week around 15 August fills months ahead. June and September are the sweet spot: warm sea, thinner crowds, lower rates, and every property open.
Confirm opening dates before you book a shoulder-season trip. Several hotels shut over winter, and the ones that stay open may run reduced restaurant and spa service.
Getting out from your hotel
Only two of these hotels sit within walking distance of anything. Assume you will need a car or scooter, and that the island’s best places are spread evenly around the coast rather than clustered near the hotels.
- Thermal water. The steam cave at Bagno Asciutto steam cave, the hot shallows at Cala Nikà and the warm stones of the Gelfiser Warm-Rock Path.
- On foot or horseback. Trails climb from most of the island; there is also a Horseback Riding Tour inland.

Pantelleria hotels: questions answered
Eight, and only one is a five-star. Pantelleria’s accommodation is dominated by dammusi — traditional stone houses rented as self-catering holiday homes — so the hotel scene is small. Most hotels cluster in the harbour town or along Contrada Mursia on the north-west coast.
For an upper-tier stay, Pantelleria Dream Resort is a four-star of lava-stone dammusi above Cala Tramontana, with sea-view terraces, panoramic pools and the Acquamore restaurant, while Mursia Wellness Hotel is the oldest on the island and has the Baths of Venus spa. For families, Qalea Pantelleria at Punta Fram is the largest property, with two pools, tennis courts and beach service. For budget stays, the three-stars in town.
